I was looking for something to inspire me to write and came upon your blog. I saw the most recent post, and decided to take the challenge. This is what I came up with. Thanks for letting me participate :)
She sits alone, a mass amongst the reeds, a still picture on a glassy surface; braided hair woven tightly, apron till attached; an orderly example in a strange occasion. Does she read? Does she cry? Has she strayed too far, or is there a safety I cannot see? The reeds blow with a wind, yet the boat's oars rest inside. No waves break the surface, and no ripples catch the light. Rather, a glassy double meets the bottom of the boat. Two girls, one less clear, still just as alone. A steady mass amongst the reeds. Yet, perhaps not so strong. For, how can one truly remain unwavering on water?
